Capsule Wardrobe - Where To Start?
It may seem like a fancy term, but it’s a very flexible concept that I think many people could benefit from understanding.
SO WHAT IS IT?
A capsule wardrobe is a consciously curated collection of versatile clothes you will easily mix and match and that work with a cohesive color palette.
It can also be defined as an active part of your entire closet, that you need to regularly rebuild to keep it tailored to the current weather season and lifestyle.
Each item of clothing curated should be practical and be something that you can wear in a lot of different ways, multiple times in a month or even in a week.
AND WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
A Capsule Wardrobe consists of 20 to 40 pieces of clothing but the number varies based on the person, the lifestyle, and the location. It usually includes shoes and outwear, but does not count accessories, underwear, and workout clothes.
When it comes to Fall/Winter Capsule Wardrobe, I usually suggest starting with 5 to 10 base items (jeans, pants, dresses, and jumpsuits), then adding tops (tees, blouses, shirts), layers (sweaters, cardigans, dusters, blazers, and jackets), shoes and outwear.
